Clarity before cleverness
A visitor should understand what you offer and what to do next without solving a puzzle.
About
Turn Order Digital is a focused web studio built around a simple belief: small businesses deserve websites that are as useful and welcoming as the places behind them.
Why this studio exists
I'm Tom Nicholls. I run Turn Order Digital from Eugene, Oregon, helping small businesses make their websites clearer and easier to use.
The current portfolio is honest self-directed concept work. It shows design and customer-path thinking without presenting fictional businesses as paying clients.
Too many capable small businesses are represented by websites that are slow, dated, hard to use on a phone, or disconnected from the way the business actually works today.
Turn Order Digital overhauls that experience around the customer's real questions: Are you open? Is this for me? What happens next? How do I visit, book, buy, or get in touch?
We are especially drawn to coffee shops, cafés, game stores, and community-centered spaces—but the same practical approach works for small businesses across many industries.
How we think
A visitor should understand what you offer and what to do next without solving a puzzle.
An overhaul should preserve good pages and tools, not replace them simply to make the project larger.
The site has to work beautifully for someone standing on a sidewalk with one hand and limited time.
A focused site that launches is worth more than a grand plan that remains half finished.
Start with the website problem your customers keep running into.
